1 Length of your article/paperA length of 2 up to max. 3 printed pages, including figures and tables, should only be exceeded in exeptional cases. 1 printed page = 3 typewritten pages (font 10 points; 60 characters/line; 11/2 line spacing; 30 lines/page). 2 LanguageScientific papers are generally published in English, all other articles, etc. will be published after consultation with the author. The editorial department will arrange for proofreading by a native speaker. 3 Layout of your manuscript3.1 TitleThis should be short and concise, clearly defining the content of the manuscript. 3.2 AuthorTitle, first name(s) and last name, full postal adress. Please include your telephone and fax numbers so that the editorial department can contact you if necessary. And any special notes regarding the manuscript (e.g. "Paper given at..." or "Thesis", etc.). 3.3 AbstractThis should include all keywords and give the gist of your manuscript. It should be a maximum of 20 lines in length. 3.4 Body textDo not include any repetitions. Logical and clear structure of the sections. Papers should comprise the following sections: abstract, introduction, experimental/tests, result, discussion and summary/conclusion. References to practical applications should always be provided. 4 Manuscript form4.1 Body textPlease type the text as a continious block, i.e. not interrupted by tables and figures. Paragraphs should be well propotioned. 4.2 FiguresIndicate these with "Fig." and enclose them with your manuscript text. Limit the number of your figures to those absolutely essential. Preferred are high contrast, glossy photos (b/w or colour, if possible from 8x10 cm_ in size). Slides only be submitted if no other alternative is available. Indicate the number of the figure on a sticker on the back of your photos. For micrographs, include a bar with the unit of measure and specification of scale in the photo. 4.3 TablesUse arabic numerals to label tables (Table 1) and enclose these with your manuscript and diskette. 4.4 CaptionsList the captions for both figures and tables at the end of the body text. 4.5 UnitsPlease use the SI system. 4.6 ReferencesIn the body text, enclose references in square brackets [1]. List the references at the end of the text in accordance with German standart DIN 1505 (start with the last name): 5 CorrectionsMake sure you send the final version of your manuscript, i.e. incorporating any corrections. 6 CopyrightOnly original papers and articles that have not been printed elsewhere will be published. Once a paper has been accepted for publication, its copyright is transferred to the publisher of CFI/Berichte der DKG. The editorial department will request the author's consent before including any paper/article on the CFI Internet homepage. 7 ReprintsAny requirements for reprints should be stated on submission of your manuscript. Every author will receive a reference copy of the journal issue containing his/her paper or aticle. 8 ProcedurePlease adress all manuscripts to the Editorial Department of CFI/Berichte der DKG, Göllerverlag GmbH, D-76532 Baden-Baden. On receipt of your manuscript, it will be appraised by two referees. You will be advised of their decision and any necessary editorial preferences accordingly. |
