Etex-Creaton Builts New Plant in Poland

One of Europe’s biggest roofing tile manufacturers, the Etex-Creaton Group, has begun building a plant in Poland for the production of 30 million roofing tiles a year, trims and accessories included. The new drying department including handling of both tiles and trims will be supplied by Sacmi/IT. This new technology is completely automated and features two 6-channel roller fast driers, each of 79 m long. During drying – completed in the record time of 220 min – the roofing tiles are supported by special metallic frames that contain 9 pieces. The trim/accessory pieces drying plant uses the more traditional static drying room method. Nevertheless, robots are an integral part of this second section of the plant too, thus ensuring a high degree of automation (10/2011).
